Build or rebuild Shopify
Fix the store you have, or start again?
A rebuild can help when the current setup keeps blocking the work. Sometimes a smaller repair gets you there faster. We assess the difference before proposing the build.
- Fix versus rebuild assessed first
- Scoped page and functionality list
- Redirects and tracking planned
Symptoms
Does this sound like you?
- Mobile pages take four seconds or more
- Every change needs a developer
- 20 to 30 apps nobody has audited
- You are leaving WooCommerce, Magento or Salla
- Multi-market or multi-language selling is held together by workarounds
Root causes
What do we check?
01
App bloat
Apps can add scripts that slow the store. We review which ones are still needed.
02
Old theme architecture
Theme condition and content structure: older themes can make editing hard.
03
Platform limits
Recurring bugs, required features and what your team can maintain.
04
Growth beyond one market
Migration needs, markets, currencies or languages, and what the Shopify plan allows.
The fix
What happens next?
01
Assess
A recommendation with trade-offs: targeted repairs, a rebuild or a migration.
02
Scope
A scoped page and functionality list, with costs for apps and themes itemised.
03
Build
Built and reviewed at agreed checkpoints, with redirects and tracking planned.
04
Launch
Launch checks on the agreed journeys and an editing handover. No fixed launch date before the inputs and dependencies are known.

Examples
Can we show you how this would work for you?
Client examples will be published when approved for sharing. In a free preliminary diagnosis we look at your business, marketing and website and explain where we would start.
When this is not your problem
When is this not your problem?
- Your store is fast and converts well: a CRO programme will earn more.
- You are not selling yet: launch on a good standard theme and rebuild later.
FAQ
Should we rebuild our Shopify store?
Should we rebuild our Shopify store or fix it?
Fix it if the theme is workable and the problems are speed, apps or specific pages. Rebuild if the setup is unmaintainable or repeatedly blocks what the business needs. We assess it before proposing either.
How long does a Shopify rebuild take?
It depends on the scope, content and approvals. We agree checkpoints once the inputs and dependencies are known.
Will a rebuild hurt our Google rankings?
Redirects, titles and structured data should be mapped carefully. Rankings depend on more than the build, so we cannot guarantee them.
How do we migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify?
As a separately scoped project: products, customers and content are mapped and imported, old URLs are redirected, and tracking and email flows are rebuilt.
Do we need Shopify Plus?
Only if your requirements need it. We check what your current plan allows and do not bypass Shopify’s plan or checkout restrictions.
Can we keep our current design?
Yes. Many rebuilds keep the look and replace the code underneath so the store is faster and easier to edit.
What happens to our apps?
Each app is reviewed. Apps that are no longer needed can often be removed, which may help speed and cost.
What does it cost?
The fee is set by the agreed scope after a free preliminary diagnosis. Advertising spend is paid directly to the platforms, and third-party costs are listed separately in the proposal.
